What to Expect in the Session

The first treatment is a special one, and so tends to take longer than just the hour - usually about an hour and a half. This is because it is important to establish your general state of health. Only once we gather all the information can the acupuncturist decide on the most effective treatment for you. There will be questions about current symptoms, previous medical history, diet, sleeping patterns and just 'how you are feeling'. The acupuncturist will also use a diagnostic method of taking pulses on both wrists and looking at your tongue.

As we have a waiting room at the clinic, it is always possible to sit and rest before travelling home or back to work - this is important as occasionally you may feel the need to just take some time to settle and feel 'fully awake' again.

Following your first treatment and before your next session, the acupuncturist will create a treatment plan suited to you and your specific needs.
